Terms and Conditions 

Introduction:

Stockton Police Community Messaging is an interactive, information web site. By applying approved Recipients will not only receive information and messages from Stockton Police but will also have the option to access other site facilities.

To apply to become an approved Recipient please read the terms and conditions below and complete the online application form. Note: If you are already in receipt of Ringmaster messages and we hold your details you do not need to reapply, please contact your local Administrator for your login password.

Applying to Become an Approved Recipient:

Applicants will be required to acknowledge these Terms and Conditions and the Personal Data Handling Statement when submitting the electronic application form.

By submitting your details for application, it is understood that you understand and agree to these terms and conditions.

Applications will be processed by your local Administrator and approval will be at their discretion and in accordance with the Stockton Police NHW Watch Policy.

General Security:

Passwords are personal. They must be kept safe and never be passed, loaned or revealed to other people, including family or the closest of colleagues and friends.

Passwords should be a unique mix of at least 8 letters and numbers. They should not comprise of a name or something associated with you, a dictionary word or a password that you have used before. Where it is suspected that a password has been compromised, it must be changed immediately. If passwords are written down, the letters and numbers should be disguised with other text.

Examples of bad practice in the selection of passwords are the use of an individual’s own name(s), the names of family members, house or pet names, combinations of postcodes and car registrations.

No unauthorised persons are allowed to access the Messaging or Forum areas.

Any inappropriate use of the system by an approved Recipient will result in the immediate removal of the User from the system.

Use of Stockton Police Community Messaging Information:

The alerts and information are intended to be used to keep recipients up to date with crime and community safety information in their neighbourhood and must not be used in a manner as to unduly raise the fear of crime.

The information may be included in local newsletters with a balanced view of other good news articles.

Privacy Policy:

Details of approved Recipients will be handled in accordance with the Personal Data Handling Statement read and agreed by applicants at the time of applying.

Information provided to Stockton Police by users of this website will be treated in full accordance with the Data Protection Act. Under no circumstances will we sell, trade, rent or otherwise disclose your details to others unless required to do so by law or have received your fully informed consent to do so.
